The Williamson County Tourism Bureau was established in 1986 to promote memorable travel experiences throughout the various communities in our area.
Our service area extends throughout:
Williamson County itself is defined as where Interstates 24, 57 and Illinois Route 13 intersect. We’re the hub for southern Illinois attractions and commerce, with the largest collection of shopping, lodging, winery and dining establishments in the region. Williamson County is also home to some amazing hunting and fishing opportunities.
The mission of the Williamson County Tourism Bureau is "To lead the way in coordinating a unified promotional and development effort, which will increase the quantity and expenditures of visitors to Williamson County and Southern Illinois maximizing Tourism's contribution to the local economy."
As we progress forward with the new STAR Bond District in place, we believe people will stop and take notice that Southern Illinois is an area that has everything anyone can ask for, wrapped up nicely with true Southern charm and hospitality.
