Summer Reading Program - Animal Tales

Animal Tales will be coming from Kinston Springs, TN to present a program on Animal Architects.  Architecture, design, excavating, construction are all performed on a regular basis in Nature.  Animal Architects will feature a variety of exotic animals from across the globe that utilize very unique abilities to build and construct as part of survival in the wild.  Be prepared to get up-close and personal learning about these very constructive critters.
 
The Johnston City Library Summer Reading program is presented in partnership with the Lunch Bunch.  It will be held at the First Freewill Baptist church 609 Monroe Avenue- Johnston City, IL 62951.  Lunch starts at 11:30 and the Reading Program starts at noon.  There is no cost for lunch, but you do not have to attend the Lunch Bunch to enjoy the Reading Program activities.  Admission is Free.

The event starts at 11:00 a.m. at Bennie's, bounces to India Delight, The Marion Elk's, John Browns, Martini Joe's, and Pookies! Those competing in the event get a drink ticket for each location, a MMS Open T-shirt, food throughout the day, and a chance to win the MMS Open trophy/cash prize! The event will end at Pookie's around 4:00pm and Sean Hopkins will take the stage to keep the party going with a 2-hour set. This is a really fun event and proceeds go back into the downtown area. Crab Orchard Kennel Club AKC Dog Show

The Crab Orchard Kennel Club will host their 59th annual AKC Dog Show at the Pavilion in Marion.  Admission is $5, children 10 and under are Free.  Over 600 dogs representing more than 130 different breeds will be competing for the coveted title of Best in Show both days.  A judging program with breed ring times will be available at www.onofrio.com.  There will be special clinics available by appointment only, concessions, and vendors selling dog-related items.  Only dogs entered in the show will be allowed in, no strollers or baby carriages will be allowed for the safety of children and dogs.
