The River-to-River (R2R) race is a popular, annual 80-mile relay race held in Southern Illinois in mid-April. 240 eight-member teams from around the country compete. The 8 members of each team run 3 cycles of approximately 3.3 miles while maintaining a specific order. The course starts near the Mississippi River by Wolf Lake, IL and proceeds over 80 hilly and curvy miles of 2-lane highways to Golconda on the banks of the Ohio River.
