DESCRIPTION:It’s all hands on deck for the Friends of the Library annual Open House event on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Come join us for refreshments, fun activities, prizes & more @ the Herrin City Library. Find out why books are the real treasure! Learn about library resources, the Summer Reading program, and receive information about joining our Friends Group. The general public is welcome and admission is free.\n\nThe Friends of the Herrin City Library will hold their Annual Business Meeting at 1:30 pm in the library’s “Tony Galines Memorial Meeting Room.” This will be the 31st Annual Meeting of the Friends which was chartered in April 1995. At the Open House & Annual Meeting, the Friends will have their Annual Business Report for 2024-2025 Fiscal Year and Election of Officers for the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year. The Friends have done much for the Herrin City Library over the past thirty-one years. They have sponsored new computers, receipt printers, new books for the Children’s Collection, Large Print titles for the Adult collection, library supplies, helped with the purchase of special supplies, and shared the cost of our new big screen television, and sponsored the costs of the Summer Reading Program.
