DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Thursday, September 17 Marion Carnegie Library will host its NEA Big Read\nOpening Reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us for this come-and-go reception and\nreceive a complimentary copy of our book pick: Harriet Tubman: The Journey to Free-\ndom by Catherine Clinton while supplies last.\nFollowing this event, join us on September 21st at 5:30 p.m. for a presentation by Con-\nnie Martin, MA speaking on Pre-Civil War Quilts: Secret codes to Freedom on the Un-\nderground RailroadTM . Connie provides an American historical information presenta-\ntion, from research on her family history, to reveal secret codes in quilts as a 6th genera-\ntion descendant of enslaved Africans in Kentucky.\nOther National Endowment for the Arts Big Read 2026 will follow throughout the\nmonth.
