Home of the city’s oldest park, Carterville's small-town charm and wide range of events and activities offer a lasting impression on visitors.
James Street Park includes a playground, pavilion, batting cages, and four ballfields. Basketball courts are adjacent to the park at the Carterville Intermediate School.
Tri-C Athletics utilizes the ballfields for most of the spring/summer season. Fields are designated for baseball, softball, tee ball, whiffle ball, and flag football.
