This popular cafe is a relaxed spot in a historic former bank offering cafe fare, such as breakfast plates and sandwiches. The building opened in 1914 and for decades housed a bank with a hotel above. Various businesses operated in the building after the bank portion closed in the 30s. In 2013, Rob Lundgren opened The Vault Cafe on the ground level of the 5 story building.
This cafe is located in downtown Marion, Illinois in the 100+ year old historic Citadel building. Located on the ground level, this cafe is known for being located in an ages old bank.
The building’s classic architecture, high ceilings and sun-catching windows make it an inviting place to soak up the morning sun over a freshly made breakfast or healthy lunch.
