High Tea & Art on the Refuge

Join us for a day of fun at the Visitors’ Center on Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge. You will begin the day at 11:00am with high tea, supplied by One Hot Cooke Bakery, Catering, and Gift Company. You will enjoy savoury finger sandwiches, traditional English scones (served with local fruit preserves and clotted cream), and some sweet desserts. Also served with two types of hot tea, in china teapots and teacups. After high tea, you will enjoy a nature program presented by Rick Whitecotton, President of the Friends of Crab Orchard Refuge. You will enjoy this program on the verandah of the Visitors’ Center with a beautiful view of Crab Orchard Lake. Last, but certainly not least, you will create your very own painting with instructions and materials from the ladies of Fish Tales Pottery Place. You will have your choice of two different 11×14 paintings, please make your choice at checkout. Your ticket will cover all activities and proceeds will benefit the Exhibit Fund. This fund helps create the educational exhibits in various areas of the Visitors’ Center. Don’t miss this fun event for a GREAT cause!
