So, what should you know before you start hunting?
Firstly, antique is a term that refers to items that are over 100 years old. Antique items are admired for their esthetic appeal as well as their historic significance.
Secondly, vintage refers to items that are from previous decades. Typically, 20 years is the age at which an item can be classified as vintage. In other words, items dated before 1999 are considered vintage items.
Thirdly, collectibles are anything someone can collect. These can be actual collectors’ edition items or simply personal pieces one enjoys. Pieces are considered to be vintage collectibles if they are more than 50 years old.
Fourthly, the term estate refers to used items. However, these items are not always old in age.
