Come to Hickory Ridge Vineyard & Winery and enjoy the best view on the trail from the cozy tasting room, one of the decks, or one of the vineyard picnic tables. Hickory Ridge is family-owned and operated. It is located on the western edge of the Shawnee Hills in AVA. Being nestled in the hills of the Shawnee National Forest means it is surrounded by Illinois’ most wild and scenic attractions. All Hickory Ridge wines are made from grapes grown solely on the premises. Vigilant attention in the vineyard produces excellent quality fruit for making the wines. It is known as the place for excellent dry wines as well as award-winning whites and roses’. Take a bottle and find your own hideaway or venture out to the thousands of acres of the Shawnee National Forest that surround our vineyard.

Hickory Ridge has won numerous awards for the large collection of red wines which are considered by many to be the best in the state. They have a wide variety of award-winning semi-sweet, sweet, and rose wines to please all pallets.

History
Hickory Ridge Vineyards & Winery is a quaint establishment owned by Ron and Sylvia Presswood in the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Located back off the road, nestled behind trees and overlooking the vineyards, the small rustic tasting room provides a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sylvia and Ron have owned the land since 1979 and started the vineyard in 2000. The first harvest came in 2003 and the tasting room opened in 2007. The Presswoods use only grapes grown in their own vineyards, with varieties including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cayuga White, Chambourcin, Norton, Petite Verdot, and Traminette.
