Herrin Park District Start! Walking Path (1 Mile)

The Start! Walking program was launched by Southern Illinois Healthcare in collaboration with the American Heart Association to provide to a nice place to walk at local parks and paths across the community. Just look for signs with the green Start!

Trail Type

A 1-mile, well-lit, asphalt paved trail.

Location

Begin your journey just off Herrin Road at either the Park District or at Harrison-Bruce Sports Complex.

Use of Trail

Walkers, joggers, and runners are welcome; dogs must be on a leash while on the trail but can run their energy out in a safe, fenced-in Dog Park!

Tips for Herrin Park District Start! Walking Path

Amenities – Benches are provided along the path; restrooms located near the entrance to the park.

While You’re There – Enjoy beautiful Herrin Park District offering seasonal outdoor swimming and a number of recreational activities including tennis, baseball, softball, skate boarding, disc golf, and much more!  Don’t forget to bring some food for the ducks!

Second Track – Also located at Harrison-Bruce Sports Complex is a quarter-mile all-weather track.
