Construction began in 1996 spearheaded by a group of more than 20 local investors that wanted to bring championship caliber golf to Southern Illinois. This sprawling course was designed by renowned golf architect, Steven Smyers and has been named one of America's best places to play by Golf Week Magazine. It is a unique course that is an engaging for novice and experienced players alike. In September 2020, new life was breathed into this Southern Illinois treasure trove. Under new management, Kokopelli is blending the best of their rich history with all the promise of a new era.

Kokopelli offers a full-service pro shop, professional golf instruction, club rental and repair, a fleet of GPS golf carts with Bluetooth and radio capabilities, and an eight-acre practice facility. There are a variety of membership, corporate membership, and corporate sponsorship opportunities.

Kokopelli's event space has also gotten a facelift featuring a passthrough bar, updated restrooms, and newly renovated event spaces available for bookings. Kokopelli also plays host to The Turn, an onsite restaurant and lounge perfect for unwinding during the day and celebrating all evening. With a wide selection of bourbons, local wine, and mouth-watering food specials, there's no reason to go anywhere else.
