Serenity Trail | Rotary of Williamson County Heartland (0.6 Mile)

The Start! Walking program was launched by Southern Illinois Healthcare in collaboration with the American Heart Association to provide to a nice place to walk at local parks and paths across the community. Just look for signs with the green Start!

Trail Type

This flat course is a 0.6-mile paved walking surface.

Location

This trail is located just behind Heartland Regional Medical Center at the Southeast corner off Route 13 and Old Bainbridge Trail. Turn left at the second entrance and drive to the back. Park in the employee lot near the 2-acre pond.

Use of Trail

Walkers, joggers, and runners welcome. This path is also pet friendly!

Tips for Serenity Trail

Amenities – Restrooms are located inside the hospital.  Along the path, is a pavilion with 6 picnic tables, 2 benches, and 2 bocce ball courts.  For reservations, contact Deborah Hogg (618) 922-0403 or Brad Ragain (618) 727-4884.

Community – Join a local fundraiser! The Southern Illinois Heart Walk and the Rockin’ Docs 5K Run/Walk both benefit the American Heart Association.

Hours – Usage of the path during daylight hours is recommend as there is no lighting for nighttime walkers.
