Fourth of July Events

Hey friends! If you’re staying local this 4th of July and wondering what’s going on around Williamson County, don’t worry there’s plenty happening, and yes, there WILL be fireworks. Whether you’re into chill lake parties or hyped-up baseball games with explosions in the sky, we’ve rounded up all the best places to celebrate Independence Day right here in southern Illinois. 🇺🇸
Where to see fireworks in Williamson County:
🎆 Friday, June 27 — Johnston City Fireworks Spectacular
Kicking things off early (because why not stretch the 4th into a week-long party?), Johnston City is hosting their Fireworks Spectacular at Arrowhead Lake Campground & Rec Center. Expect food, activities, and a solid fireworks show once the sun goes down. Bring a blanket, some bug spray, and your best summer vibes.

🧨 Thursday, July 3 — Boots & Badges Night @ Mtn Dew Park (Marion)
If baseball + fireworks sounds like your ideal combo, head over to Mtn Dew Park in Marion. The Thrillville Thrillbillies are taking on the Jackson Rockabillys for Boots & Badges Night, honoring local first responders. After the game? Post-game fireworks! Trust me, the atmosphere here is unmatched.

🇺🇸 Friday, July 4 — Freedom Friday @ Mtn Dew Park
The celebration keeps rolling with Freedom Friday, also at Mtn Dew Park. This one’s all about honoring our military heroes with patriotic tributes throughout the night..and yes, more fireworks to light up the sky. Bring the fam, grab a hot dog, and soak in all the red, white, and blue energy.

🌊 Friday, July 4 — Pop-Up Dock Party @ Northshore Boat Ramp
For something a little more lowkey, head out to Lake of Egypt for live music, water views, and good times. It’s the ultimate relaxing 4th of July vibe!

🎆 Friday, July 4 — Herrin Fireworks @ Herrin City Park
Head on over to Herrin City Park at dusk for a festive fireworks show. Concessions (including Diamond 2 stand) will be open, so grab snacks, set up a blanket, and get ready for some hometown patriotism. Confirmed for July 4th at dusk!

🎇 Friday, July 4 — Marion Knights of Columbus Fireworks
A small-town favorite! The Knights of Columbus will light up the sky at dusk. It’s a classic 4th of July moment, so bring your lawn chairs and your whole crew.

🎆 Saturday, July 5 — Lake of Egypt Fireworks Show
Can’t get enough fireworks? Head back to Lake of Egypt on Saturday night for another show hosted by the Marion Elks. The fireworks launch at dusk, and the reflection on the water? Unreal.

🎇 Saturday, July 5 — Marion VFW Fireworks
The Marion VFW will be wrapping up the weekend with a fireworks display at dusk. It’s a great chance to show support for local veterans and catch one last celebration before the holiday ends.
