Playport Marina
In April 2022, PLD Landing, LLC assumed responsibility for concessions on a 200+ acre portion of Crab Orchard Lake within Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. Playport Marina continues to offer a full access ramp with a wide range of boats and other water craft rentals.

Marina Services
Houseboat, pontoon, kayak and canoe rentals are available as well as seasonal boat slips, lifts, pontoons, jon boats, and kayaks. The Marina also features a full-service boat and motor repair shop.
Set Sail!
Bring your sailboat! Playport Marina offers a dedicated sailboat beach that is free to launch from but comes with a parking fee. Contact nearby John A. Logan College to learn more about their sailboat club!
Wildlife Destination
Located within the National Wildlife Refuge, the marina provides a prime location for birdwatching, photography, and peaceful nature escapes. With its abundant bass, crappie, and catfish, Crab Orchard Lake is a top spot for both casual and tournament anglers.

Check Refuge Regulations – Since the marina is within a protected wildlife refuge, be sure to review any boating and fishing guidelines before heading out.
Book Rentals in Advance – Boat rentals can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so it’s best to reserve early to secure your spot.
Bring Your Camera & Binoculars – The area is home to bald eagles, herons, and other wildlife, making it a great destination for nature lovers and photographers.
Grab Your Live Bait! – Minnows (medium shiners), worms (wax worms, red wigglers, nightcrawlers), minnow buckets, nets, additional tackle, snacks, sodas, and more!
