Learn more – Designed and Painted by Maddie Deiters of ThreeLine Art. The inspiration behind this piece is the Marion and Kanie (Japan) Cultural Exchange relationship.
More Info – “I had the privilege to visit Kanie as an exchange student this past spring to learn more about Japanese culture. I had a wonderful experience. The origami paper is covered with imagery from this experience. An annual Sunari Festival in Kanie starts with a boat covered in lanterns making it’s way down the Kanie River in the night. The boat then travels back in the morning with cherry blossoms. In order for their boat to travel, a red bridge must be raised.” -Maddie Dieters
