Chess at the Library
Chess at the Library will be Friday, April 10, 2026. Players can drop in for a game any time between 2pm to 5pm.
Want a quiet place to play chess? Join us for a fun, free Friday afternoon of chess at the library! Whether you’re a seasoned player or a complete beginner, the Herrin City Library is a great place to enjoy a game, meet new friends, and challenge yourself. Bring a friend or a family member – everyone’s welcome!
We will have three to four boards set up and ready for play in the Adult Reading Lounge. We will also have a table for checkers, if you prefer. Basic texts on how to play chess will be available to every player, if needed.
