Saturday Morning: Coffee First

 Every good weekend should begin with coffee.

Grab breakfast and choose a stop along the Southern Illinois Coffee Trail. Try a new drink, pick up a pastry, and take a few minutes to plan the day. Then, head outside before the afternoon heat rolls in.

Late Morning: Make a Splash

Nothing says summer quite like a day near the water. Williamson County is home to beautiful lakes and plenty of ways to enjoy them.

Spend the morning fishing at Crab Orchard Lake, launch a kayak, rent a pontoon, or simply slow down and enjoy the view. Lake of Egypt is another great choice for boating, paddling, and soaking up the last few weeks of lake season.

You can also cool down at The HUB Recreation Center, go skating, visit an escape room, or browse some of the area’s antique stores and locally owned boutiques. It’s a great way to escape the heat while still making the most of the day.

And honestly, a little shopping never hurts!

Saturday Night: Dinner & Something Fun

After a full day of exploring, you’ve definitely earned a good meal.

If you have time, stop at the Williamson County Historical Museum, walk part of the Crab Orchard Greenway, or return to your favorite place from Saturday. Sometimes a weekend’s best discovery is the spot you weren’t planning to find.
