Marion FFA and FFA Alumni Blue and Gold 5K Run/Walk and Breakfast

The Marion FFA and FFA Alumni Blue and Gold 5K Run/Walk and Breakfast will be held on February 25th, 2017 at Marion High School.  Registration and packet pickup begin at 7am, Race begins at 8am.  Cost is $20 which includes t-shirt and an "all you can eat" pancake and sausage breakfast hosted by the Marion FFA Alumni from 7-10am.  Extra breakfast tickets are $6 at the door.

Crappie Kids Free Fishing Rodeo

Crappie Kids will host a Free Fishing Rodeo at the Elks Property on Lake of Egypt March 19th with registration beginning at 8am.  Fishing will be from 9am-11am with prizes and activities for all. C hildren 12 and under are invited to attend with a parent or gaurdian for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship from Crappie Kids.

River-to-River Relay

Registration opens Tuesday, October 25, 2016 @ 6:00pm CDT
 
The River-to-River (R2R) race is a popular, annual 80-mile relay race held in southern Illinois in mid-April.  240 eight-member teams from around the country compete.  The 8 members of each team run 3 cycles of approximately 3.3 miles while maintaining a specific order.  The course starts near the Mississippi river by Wolf Lake, IL and proceeds over 80 hilly and curvy miles of 2 lane highways to Golconda on the banks of the Ohio River.

The City of Herrin and the Herrin Chamber of Commerce present HerrinFesta Italiana- voted Best Event or Festival at the 2014 Illinois Governor's Conference on Travel & Tourism.  This year marks the festival's 27th year and will run from May 22nd through May 29th.  This weeklong celebration of Italian heritage includes a grand parade, a variety of contests, concerts with world famous recording artists, a midway carnival and much more.  See the full week's event details below:

Snowman Shuffle 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run

The Snowman Shuffle will be held at John A. Logan College at the Health Education Complex.  Registration begins at 8am and the race will start at 9:30am.  Cost is $15 for adults, $12 under 10 years, $20 Family (Limit 4).
 
Awards will be given to 5K Run and Walk - Male and Female, Overall and top 3 places to each age group.  Also an award for best costume/winter theme.
