Bluegill Bay Marina and Campground
Carterville's premier marina located on beautiful Crab Orchard Lake. Established in the early 1940s, the marina includes docks with 137 slips, a boat ramp, club house, and boat rental which includes pontoons, paddle boats, and canoes. The campground includes 34 water and electric sites, primitive tent camping, and a full-service shower house and dump station.
Highlights
This alcohol-free, family-oriented destination is available to the public who choose to pay an annual user fee of $125 (approximately $10 per month). Users can enjoy access to the marina and campground, and can utilize the club house for events at no additional charge.
Shareholders pay a lifetime $125 fee, in addition to the standard annual fee. These members can enjoy events planned throughout the year, i.e., Valentine's Day Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Kids' Fish-off, Kids' Fun Day, Fish Fry, Fall Party, and Christmas Party.

Ring in the new owners! – Effective January 1st, 2025 – The REEF, LLC (locally owned and operated by the Pettigrew family) will take over concessions of Crab Orchard Campground and Bluegill Bay Marina and Campground (formerly Blue Heron).
