Indulge in the comfort and tranquil setting of this unique 1000 ft. rustic/eclectic 2 bedroom / 2 bath water front cabin-ish. Located just 6 miles off interstate 57, and 1/2 mile off route 148, and close to SIU Campus, nestled in a safe area on a private lot. For those traveling nurses we are only 1.5 miles from Herrin Hospital. The two bedrooms are on opposite ends of the Airbnb. Back King has its own full private bath. Front queen has an access private door into a full bath. Open floor living, dining, and kitchen. Game board/ reading material cabinet, full size washer/ dryer closet. Fully stocked kitchen with full size appliances. Three outside decks. Upper deck has a bar with seating stools, lower deck has seating chairs, side tables, and a sun shade above making sunny days more comfortable. Third deck is partially over the water for a perfect view of the blue pond. Fire pit / Grill area. Seating with side tables. Charcoal grill and supply table. Wood, charcoal, utensils all supplied. PRIVATE Hot Tub area. Roll down locking shades, barn door entry, & above soft lighting. Hooks for placing beach towels and robes (provided).

Tips for Shady Rest
The Space – The tranquil sound of the water fountain sets the mood for Shady Rest (removed during winter). Unwind in the therapeutic hot tub. (open all year long) Watch the 12 ft. windmill twirl as it catches the wind. Resident ducks will provide fun entertainment along with the evening fish feeding show. (spring-fall) End the day with a night fire around the fire pit. No matter what the season, Shady Rest “on blue pond” is sure to create an unforgettable experience.
Guest Access – No worries! Shady Rest “on blue pond” and all amenities on the property inside and out are all private. The entire Airbnb space is not shared.
Other Things to Note – Airbnb sets across the blue pond (approx.150 feet) away from our New second Airbnb “Camp NoBo”. We have tried to seclude the activities at the camp as much as possible, so guests at either Airbnb have their privacy. The Camp can be reserved as an overflow to Shady Rest if needed.
